Through this lesson my students are learning about the following ideas: monochromatic painting,value, positive and negative space, geometric and organic shape, additive and subtractive painting, texture, and how to communicate with one another and work as a team.Not only are the students learning about art, but for the Black History Month Portrait series, they are learning about history and social studies as well. A fun and tasty intecurricular activity.
The outcome has been Astounding! The students and staff alike have all been having a blast painting with this suprisingly versitile alternative material.
